Amaravati, January 26, 2026: A male sub-adult tiger has been confirmed in Buttayagudem mandal of Eluru district after drone camera footage captured its movement near Kannapuram.

The animal, believed to have migrated from Telangana's Kavadigundla forest via corridors linked to Papikonda National Park, has killed several cattle over the past week, including cows and buffaloes in areas like Kovvada and surrounding villages such as Pandirimamidigudem, Kamavaram, Antarvedi Gudem, and Nagula Gudem.

Forest officials verified the presence through pugmarks, camera traps, and the recent drone visuals. The tiger shows signs of limited wild hunting ability, leading it toward easier livestock prey and raising human-wildlife conflict risks. Authorities have alerted residents, increased monitoring, and deployed teams to track its path.
