Amaravati, January 26, 2026: Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy today laid the foundation stone for a new sports development centre in Atmakur, Nellore district.
The 20-acre facility near Gurukula School starts with Rs 1.80 crore funding and targets completion in six months. Officials plan future upgrades to world-class standards with additional central and state support.
The centre revives a long-pending 2013 project and focuses on spotting and training young athletes from rural areas.
