Amaravati, January 26, 2026: The Health and Family Welfare Department plans to reach 1,11,63,762 children and adolescents aged 1 to 19 years with free albendazole tablets on February 17.
This includes nearly 23 lakh children under 5. Frontline workers such as ANMs, ASHAs, and anganwadi staff will handle distribution across schools, anganwadis, and communities.
Soil-transmitted worms remain a key public health issue in the state, leading to anaemia, poor growth, abdominal pain, weakness, and other symptoms.
