Amaravati, January 26, 2026: A four-line Telugu inscription from the 8th century CE has been discovered on a slab in front of the Pitikesvara Swamy temple in Pitikayagulla village, Besthavari Peta mandal, Prakasam district.

Epigraphy experts date it to the Renati kings’ era in the Renadu region. The text records a sculptor named Pranamilli Achari building a new embankment, highlighting early public works and Telugu script use in Andhra.
