Amaravati, January 25, 2026: Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand today urged every eligible citizen to enrol as a voter and actively cast their ballot. Speaking at the 16th National Voters’ Day programme in Vijayawada, he described voting as both a right and a core responsibility that powers India’s democracy.
The event highlighted the theme “My India – My Vote,” with special focus on engaging young voters through school and college awareness drives, Electoral Literacy Clubs, and polling station activities.
State CEO Vivek Yadav explained updated rules allowing 18-year-olds to register on four fixed dates each year, making it easier to join the electoral roll. Awards recognised strong local efforts, including to NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha for best practices.
