Amaravati, January 25, 2026: Thenmoyi, once trapped in bonded labour at a brick kiln near Bengaluru after her family accepted an advance when she was in school, has transformed her pain into purpose.
Freed through rescue efforts, she now lives in Chittoor district with her husband and two sons, running a small fruit and vegetable stall while leading a collective of more than 900 survivors across Andhra Pradesh.
She joins district rescue teams in hotspots like Nellore, Prakasam, Chittoor, Tirupati, Annamayya, and Sri Sathya Sai districts.
Thenmoyi explains legal rights to victims, helps obtain release certificates and compensation under the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, and follows up on rehabilitation.
In one case, she supported a mother named Ankamma after the tragic murder of her son in 2025, standing firm through police processes, hospital visits, and legal steps. Her presence shows victims they are not alone.
