Amaravati, January 25, 2026: The historic Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple at Arasavalli in Srikakulam district drew an unprecedented number of devotees for Ratha Saptami, one of the key festivals honouring the Sun God.

Long lines formed from early morning for darshan, special prayers, and the symbolic chariot procession, with many pilgrims arriving overnight despite challenging conditions.

Temple authorities and local officials, including the district collector and superintendent of police, stepped in to organise phased entry, ease frustrations, and ensure safety.

Dignitaries offered traditional rituals like silk garments and milk abhishekam to the deity, believed to bring health and prosperity.
