Andhra discoms upgrade to B grade in national rating

Two key Andhra Pradesh power distributors jumped from C to B grade in the latest national utility ranking, driven by sharp gains in collections and lower losses.

Amaravati, January 25, 2026: Central Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APCPDCL) and Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APSPDCL) have improved their performance grades from C to B in the 14th Annual Integrated Rating and Ranking of Power Distribution Utilities.

The assessment, conducted by Power Finance Corporation on behalf of the Government of India, highlights stronger financial discipline and operational efficiency.

Collection efficiency rose to 99.26% from 94.91%, while aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses fell to 7.9% from 12%.
