Amaravati, January 24: Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, who also serves as Special Chief Secretary (Energy), has instructed the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) and AP-Transco to fast-track the rerouting of existing 400 kV and 220 kV Extra High Tension (EHT) transmission lines that currently pass through Amaravati's core capital area.
The directive aims to eliminate interference with ongoing and planned construction, allowing development to proceed at full pace. Rerouted lines will bypass sensitive core zones, follow approved alignments along green buffers and major arterial corridors, and adhere to the master plan finalised after stakeholder consultations.
Works are being executed on a deposit-funded basis under CRDA guidelines. Officials have been told to maintain close inter-departmental coordination, monitor progress on the ground, resolve issues promptly, and provide regular updates, with a review scheduled for the same day.
