Vijayawada, January 24, 2026: A delegation from the BJP Legal Cell met Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal to push for key judicial expansions in Andhra Pradesh.
They formally requested central approval for a permanent High Court bench in Kurnool to alleviate the burden on the main bench and bring justice closer to residents of Rayalaseema.
The group also sought the establishment of a National Green Tribunal bench in the state for faster handling of environmental cases, alongside benches for Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, and Commercial Tax Appellate Tribunal.
The minister responded positively, assuring he would take up the matters with concerned ministries and inviting the delegation to Delhi for detailed follow-up.
