CBI-led SIT files final charge sheet in TTD ghee case

A CBI-supervised SIT has submitted its final charge sheet in the Tirumala laddu ghee adulteration scandal, naming 36 accused after a 15-month probe across 12 states.

Amaravati, January 24, 2026: The Special Investigation Team, formed under CBI oversight following Supreme Court directions, filed the final charge sheet in Nellore's ACB Court.

It names Bhole Baba Dairy (Uttarakhand) and 36 individuals as accused, including TTD officials and dairy experts who allegedly colluded in the supply of adulterated ghee.

The scam involved about 68 lakh kg of synthetic product often palm oil-based used in preparing laddu prasadam between 2021 and 2024, valued at roughly ₹250 crore. Earlier probes named 24 accused in May 2025, with 12 more roles identified later; nine arrests were made, and six released on bail.
