Amaravati, January 24, 2026: Irrigation authorities in Andhra Pradesh have set a new benchmark by transferring 40.109 TMC feet of Krishna River water to the Rayalaseema region through the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project.

This exceeds the project's original design capacity and marks the largest single-season conveyance since upgrades, completed rapidly with canal widening and additional pumps.

The effort provides critical relief to farmers in the arid districts, filling reservoirs, supporting irrigation, and boosting agriculture amid ongoing water scarcity challenges.
