Newsroom, January 23, 2026: Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams, fresh from retirement after 27 years at NASA, inaugurated the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) 2026 at Kozhikode Beach.

She highlighted how Earth appears borderless from orbit, stressing that humanity shares one planet and must listen across differences to coexist peacefully.

Williams joined interactive sessions, including one for children on space stories, and spoke on blending science with spirituality while encouraging young dreamers.

The festival features Nobel laureate Abdulrazak Gurnah, economist Abhijit Banerjee, authors like Kiran Desai, and figures from sports and history.
