Amaravati, January 23, 2026: Jnana Saraswati Devi temples in northern Andhra Pradesh, including spots in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram, saw lively crowds as parents brought young children for Aksharabhyasam the traditional first step into learning.

Special prayers and rituals honoured Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, on this spring festival day.

Similar scenes unfolded at major sites like the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada (Indrakeeladri), where thousands gathered for mass initiations, free darshan for students, and Vedic ceremonies. Families viewed the day as ideal for blessing kids with wisdom and success in studies.
