Amaravati, January 22, 2026: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, during a meeting with ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman Lakshmi Mittal at the World Economic Forum in Davos, reviewed progress on the major integrated steel project in Anakapalli district.

The first phase carries an investment of around Rs 60,000 crore and promises to boost manufacturing and employment in the region near Visakhapatnam.

Naidu emphasized the state's industry-friendly approach, including fast-tracked approvals, escrow support, and real-time monitoring of investments.

He assured full government backing to enable quick construction and early production start once clearances are secured by mid-February. This push aligns with broader efforts to attract global players and position Andhra Pradesh as a key industrial hub.
