Vizag, January 22, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh met Trevor Thompson, Global Managing Director of Scale AI, during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
Scale AI, a leading San Francisco firm valued at $29 billion, specialises in data annotation, model evaluation, and tools for building trusted AI systems used by governments and major enterprises.
Lokesh praised the company's rapid growth and invited it to partner with the state for a dedicated Centre of Excellence in Visakhapatnam.
The centre would target AI safety, evaluation, governance, large language model benchmarking, red-teaming, and applied AI solutions. He emphasized Vizag's strong talent base, educational institutions, and drive to become a leader in responsible AI for public and industrial needs.
