Amaravati, January 22: The Andhra Pradesh government has directed power utilities to achieve 2 lakh rooftop solar connections by May 2026 as part of the national PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Chief Secretary K Vijayanand instructed APSPDCL to hit 1.5 lakh installations by March, with the rest completed in the following months.

The push includes benefits for SC/ST households and focuses on quality work, faster approvals, and strong awareness drives.
