Newsroom, January 21, 2026: Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato, has resigned as CEO and Managing Director of Eternal Ltd the parent company of food delivery platform Zomato and quick-commerce leader Blinkit.

The move, announced today, takes effect February 1. Goyal will transition to Vice Chairman and Director on the board, subject to shareholder approval for a five-year term.

Albinder Singh Dhindsa, current CEO of Blinkit (which he co-founded), steps up as the new CEO. Goyal cited a pull toward high-risk, experimental ventures better suited outside a listed company.

This shift comes as Eternal reports strong growth, with quick-delivery demand fueling recent profit jumps. The transition signals focus on Blinkit's momentum in India's fast-evolving digital economy, even as food delivery remains core.
