Amaravati, January 21, 2026: A pre-dawn road mishap unfolded around 2:30 a.m. on January 20 when two private buses carrying students and teachers from a Telangana school braked suddenly to avoid a buffalo on the highway at Diwan Cheruvu near Rajamahendravaram.

The abrupt stop triggered a rear-end chain reaction, involving a third private bus and leading to injuries among 32 students, two drivers, and two teachers.

The group from Government Model High School in Gundlapalli, Nalgonda district, was returning from an educational trip covering Annavaram and Rajamahendravaram.

Authorities shifted the injured mostly students, to Government General Hospital in Rajamahendravaram, where doctors confirmed their condition as stable. Police registered a case and continue probing the incident.
