Amaravati, January 20, 2026: On the opening day of his World Economic Forum engagements, Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh met leaders from Switzerland's Buhler Group and Spain's Evolution Synergetique Automotive SL (EVO).
With Buhler, he pushed for a Food and Grain Technology Application Centre in the state to aid agri-export clusters, advance millet processing for nutrition products, and set up skill development facilities modelled on Buhler's global training hubs.
He also urged local manufacturing expansion under Make-in-India for equipment like optical sorters to create jobs. Buhler's India head noted the company's existing presence in Kakinada as a positive base.
In talks with EVO, Lokesh invited collaboration on green hydrogen terminal tractors at Visakhapatnam and Kakinada ports, plus redesign of zero-emission off-road vehicles in industrial parks. The state offered test beds, approvals, prototypes, and engineering sandboxes to speed innovation.
