Amaravati, January 20, 2026: Andhra Pradesh takes a bold step in frontier technology. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the Global Quantum Bio Foundry will set up within the Amaravati Quantum Valley.
This first-of-its-kind facility in India aims to solve complex challenges in biology and healthcare that classical computers cannot handle.
The foundry focuses on quantum-driven advances in drug discovery, enzyme engineering, personalised medicine, and the development of innovative medical devices. It builds on the Amaravati Quantum Valley, launched in May 2025.
Progress includes the upcoming installation of an IBM 133-qubit Quantum System Two, the launch of a Quantum Reference Facilityin April, and widespread training programs reaching over one lakh youth.
Partnerships involve TCS, IBM, CSIR, IIT Delhi, CVJ Center, and Sentella AI. The initiative draws foreign investment, creates high-value jobs, and strengthens research-led startups.
