Vijayawada, January 20, 2026: A panel of foreign experts Sean Hinchberger, David B. Paul, and Gianfranco De Cicco conducted detailed assessments at the Polavaram multipurpose project's Gap-1 section on Tuesday.

Accompanied by Central Water Commission and state officials, they examined soil stabilisation, excavated compacted areas to verify consolidation levels, and observed embankment placement and heavy rolling techniques for optimal compaction.

The team held an in-depth review meeting earlier in the day with Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Department advisers, engineers-in-chief, Polavaram Project Authority members, and contractor Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited representatives.

Discussions clarified prior observations and addressed Gap-2 design configurations using independent data alongside project inputs.
