Amaravati, January 20, 2026: British Deputy High Commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen, responsible for UK affairs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, held a courtesy meeting with Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana in Amaravati. V.R. Srinivas, Managing Director of the Amaravati Growth and Infrastructure Corporation, also attended.

The minister briefed the diplomat on ongoing construction and the state's vision to build Amaravati as a modern, sustainable, globally competitive capital with strong urban infrastructure, mobility networks, and public amenities.

Owen voiced strong interest in the city's progress and pledged UK coordination with the Andhra Pradesh government on growth initiatives. He highlighted potential in riverfront development and the proposed International Sports City, which could boost Amaravati's international appeal.
