Amaravati, January 19, 2026: The National Disaster Response Force's 10th Battalion marked its 21st Rising Day at Kondapavuluru village in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.

Battalion Commandant V.V.N. Prasanna Kumar hoisted the NDRF flag and felicitated personnel who received gallantry medals for bravery in rescue operations.

Officers and jawans distributed sweets to celebrate life-saving missions, with the force having saved 67 lives, evacuated 1,634 people, and retrieved bodies in major operations during 2025 alone.

Prasanna Kumar praised the team for their courage in floods, cyclones, building collapses, and other emergencies, noting their role in rescuing and evacuating thousands nationwide.

The event included a Sainik Sammelan where he addressed personnel concerns, alongside a parade and sports activities.
