Amaravati, January 19, 2026: Andhra Pradesh is advancing a decentralised growth strategy that designates Amaravati as the state's sole capital while fostering specialised economic clusters across regions.

Speaking to the Europe Telugu Diaspora in Zurich, IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh highlighted the quantum computing facilities in Amaravati, the aquaculture focus in the Godavari districts, electronics and renewable energy hubs in Chittoor, Kadapa, and Kurnool, and pharma, IT, and medical device units in North Andhra. Prakasam district is seeing multiple compressed biogas plants.

The state has secured investment commitments worth ₹23.50 lakh crore in 18 months, ranking No. 1 in a Bank of Baroda report. Major players, including Google, ArcelorMittal, TCS, Cognizant, and ReNew, have committed substantial sums, driven by policy stability and leadership credibility.

Lokesh described the government as a "double-engine bullet train" backed by central support, with fast-tracked Amaravati and Polavaram projects, protection for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and the new South Coast Railway Zone headquartered in Visakhapatnam.
