Amaravati, January 19, 2026: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons to Rajampet Lok Sabha MP P.V. Mithun Reddy for questioning in the money-laundering probe linked to the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam. Reddy, a YSR Congress Party leader, must appear before ED officials on January 23.

Investigators allege irregularities in the state's liquor policy during the previous YSRCP government (2019-2024), including kickbacks and collusion that led to massive financial gains.

The scam, estimated in the thousands of crores, prompted a state SIT probe that arrested Reddy in July 2025; he secured interim bail later that year. The ED's parallel case examines the laundering of alleged illicit funds from policy manipulations.
