Amaravati, January 18, 2026: YSR Congress Party workers held dharnas at Dr BR Ambedkar statues across Andhra Pradesh districts, including Guntur, Palnadu, Kurnool, and others, to condemn the killing of party activist and Dalit leader Manda Salman in Pinnelli village, Gurazala constituency.

Salman, a local YSRCP supporter, was reportedly assaulted with iron rods, leading to his death earlier this month. Party leaders, including former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accused the ruling Telugu Desam Party of orchestrating the attack and alleged police inaction or collusion, pointing to a pattern of post-election violence that has displaced many YSRCP families from the area.

Protesters demanded swift arrests, suspension of involved officers, and action under the SC/ST Atrocities Act. YSRCP announced financial aid to the victim's family and vowed continued support.
