A 38-year-old man in Annamayya district killed a snake after it bit him, then carried its body to hospital for identification. Doctors confirmed it was non-venomous.

Amaravati, January 17, 2026: Panic spread in Yanamalavari Palli village, Madanapalle mandal, Annamayya district, on Friday night when a five-foot snake entered a home.

Neighbour Moula, 38, tried to catch it alive to release it safely, but was bitten on the hand. He then killed the snake and rushed to the Government Hospital in Madanapalle, carrying the carcass to ensure proper treatment.

Doctors gave first aid and precautionary anti-venom. The examination revealed that the snake was a non-venomous water snake. Moula received relief once the species was identified, avoiding serious complications.
