Kakinada, January 17, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has positioned Kakinada as the Green Hydrogen Valley of India while performing the bhumi puja and equipment erection ceremony for AM Green's massive Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia Production Complex.

The project, on a 495-acre site, involves a core investment of ₹15,600 crore plus ₹2,000 crore for 2-GW electrolysers, targeting an initial output of 0.5 million metric tonnes of green ammonia by mid-2027 and scaling to 1.5 million tonnes annually.

Production draws on the state's abundant wind and solar resources along its coastline, supporting exports mainly to Germany and Europe under international agreements.
