Amaravati, January 17, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu revealed plans for a satellite launching facility on Hope Island in the Kakinada Bay.

He made the announcement during a bhumi puja event for a Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia Production Complex, speaking to foreign investors in renewables and state officials.

The facility forms a core part of the upcoming Space City project. Naidu highlighted that launches from Hope Island over 600 km from India's main spaceport at Sriharikota, will drive major gains in technology and innovation for Kakinada. He noted interest from the Greenko Group in joining the initiative.

This development builds on the region's growing industrial momentum, including new ports and green energy projects.
