Amaravati, January 14, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y.S. Sharmila sharply criticised the state's coalition government for failing to roll out the Maha Shakti scheme, also called Aadabidda Nidhi.

Part of the 'Super Six' guarantees, the programme aims to deliver ₹1,500 monthly or ₹18,000 yearly to women aged 18-59 for financial security and empowerment.

Sharmila called the hold-up a “major betrayal” of nearly 1.5 crore eligible women, noting repeated vague promises linked to festivals like Deepavali and Sankranti without action. She demanded an immediate timeline and full implementation to honour the commitment.
