Amaravati, January 14, 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to inaugurate the green ammonia plant operated by AM Green Ammonia India Private Limited in Kakinada on January 17.

The project, built at the site of the former Nagarjuna Fertilisers complex, uses renewable-powered electrolysers to produce green hydrogen and convert it into low-carbon ammonia.

The facility aims for initial production soon, scaling to 1 million tonnes per annum initially and targeting 5 million tonnes by 2030 about one-fifth of India's green hydrogen goals.

Most output will head to European markets through offtake deals, driving exports, job creation, and reduced emissions while strengthening the state's role in global sustainable energy supply chains.
