Amaravati, January 14, 2026: ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan hailed the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) in Gadanki for its strong foundation built by past leaders.
Speaking at the lab's 33rd Foundation Day celebrations, he highlighted how visionary guidance from former directors and governing council members drove NARL's rise as a key player in atmospheric research supporting India's space efforts.
NARL, under the Department of Space, evolved from the National MST Radar Facility into a hub for advanced studies in weather, climate, and navigation data like CORS and NaVIC.
Narayanan called for a detailed vision plan drawn from expert brainstorming to push future innovations. Former ISRO heads and other scientists echoed praise for the team's work and its ties to national missions.
