Amaravati, January 14, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society has called for online applications to admit eligible students into its Dr BR Ambedkar Gurukulams.
Boys and girls from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backwards Classes can apply for entry into Class V, Junior Intermediate (first year), and any open spots in Classes VI to X.
The state runs 190 such institutions 67 for boys and 123 for girls, providing free, high-quality residential schooling from Class V through Intermediate. Renamed in 2022 to honour Dr BR Ambedkar, these Gurukulams focus on empowering underprivileged youth through education.
