Amaravati, January 14, 2026: Andhra Pradesh officials completed a two-day study tour of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) on January 12-13 to explore proven models of metropolitan governance, land monetisation, transit-oriented development, slum redevelopment, and large-scale urban projects.

Led by Principal Secretary S. Suresh Kumar of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, the team included senior members from the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), Directorate of Town and Country Planning, and state project units.

They engaged with Maharashtra counterparts, including MMRDA and CIDCO leaders, examining self-sustaining revenue approaches like development rights, floor space index premiums, and master-planned zones such as Bandra-Kurla Complex and Navi Mumbai.
