Amaravati, January 14, 2026: Andhra Pradesh has declared energy efficiency and conservation a core governance focus to lower electricity demand, reduce public spending, and drive sustainable growth.

Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand led a key meeting of the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), urging expansion of Energy Clubs in schools, creation of dedicated Energy Conservation Cells across government departments and autonomous bodies, and tougher energy audits for industries, MSMEs, and municipalities.
