Union government has sanctioned ₹100.28 crore to upgrade rural roads across Srikakulam district. The funds target 212 km of panchayat roads to boost connectivity in eight assembly segments.

Amaravati, January 13, 2026: The Union government has approved ₹100.28 crore under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) for road improvements in Srikakulam district.

This covers 66 works on 212 km of panchayat roads, including BT, CC, gravel, and WBM surfaces, spread across assembly segments like Srikakulam (14 works), Tekkali (12), Ichchapuram, Narasannapeta, Amadalavalasa, Pathapatnam, and Palasa.

Officials from the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department have begun the tender process for swift execution.

The allocation forms part of a larger ₹2,000 crore package to Andhra Pradesh for rural road strengthening, aimed at enhancing infrastructure in remote areas and supporting tourism-linked growth.
