Amaravati, January 13, 2026: Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar inaugurated Sankranti celebrations at the District Police Office in Puttaparthi, Sri Sathya Sai district.

Officers from sub-divisions including Dharmavaram, Puttaparthi, Penukonda, and Hindupur, joined with their families, dressed in traditional attire.

The event featured a Bhogi bonfire, village-themed decorations with bullock carts, rangoli competitions, folk games, dances, kite-flying, and pot-breaking contests. Winners received prizes.

The festivities highlighted Andhra Pradesh's rich harvest traditions during the multi-day Sankranti festival, which symbolises unity, gratitude for the season's bounty, and the start of longer days.

SP Satish Kumar noted that collective celebrations foster bonds within the force, promote a people-friendly approach, relieve work stress, and enhance morale.
