Amaravati, January 13: The three-day Gandikota Festival concluded Tuesday with strong attendance on its last day, as visitors flocked to experience the region's natural wonder and cultural riches.

Held at Gandikota in Kadapa district home to the dramatic Pennar River gorge flanked by Erramala hills, the event blended adventure and heritage.

Popular draws included boat rides through the gorge, helicopter and para-motor rides for aerial views, folk performances like Kolatam dances by women, mimicry shows, and local Rayalaseema spicy cuisine at food stalls.

Evening highlights featured a Sound and Light Show on the historic Gandikota fort's grandeur and the Pemmasani dynasty's legacy, plus a 3D dome projection on regional history.

Competitions in cookery, photography, poetry, and sports added interactive fun, while guided heritage walks appealed to history buffs.

Kadapa Collector Sridhar Cherukuri attended sessions, underscoring official support for boosting tourism.
