Amaravati, January 13, 2026: Eluru district police organised vibrant sports and rangoli competitions in villages on Tuesday to mark Sankranti celebrations.

In Kolleru and Gudivakalanka, women took part in rangoli events launched by DSP D. Sravan Kumar alongside Yuvasakthi organisation, with prizes for winners and messages to skip illegal pastimes. At Rajiv Nagar, ASP Susmitha R. inaugurated similar activities, supported by local inspectors.

Volleyball matches engaged youth in Lingapalem and Polasanapalli under Bhimadole mandal, as noted by SP K. Pratap Shiva Kishore. Nearby Krishna and NTR districts saw fun games, ethnic food stalls, runs, and traditional performances, including Sankranti Sambaralu for women, children, NRIs, and locals in Kerarapalli.
