Amaravati, January 12, 2026: A third-year engineering student from Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati suffered multiple facial injuries after slipping into a 50-foot-deep gorge at Galibanda point on Horsley Hills near Madanapalle in Annamayya district.
The incident happened Monday while he posed for a selfie with friends during a visit; thick fog delayed the rescue by about an hour before police located him in bushes below and rushed him to Government District Hospital in Madanapalle. His condition is now stable.
