Amaravati, January 10, 2026: Authorities in Nellore district prevented a group of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders from reaching the Somasila Reservoir, a critical irrigation source for Andhra Pradesh farmers.

Former Agriculture Minister and YSRCP Nellore district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy, along with MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, Anam Vijayakumar Reddy, former MLA Kiliveti Sanjeevaiah, and others, faced vehicle blocks and house detention.
