Amaravati, January 10, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Dagadarthi Greenfield Airport project, paving the way for the state's eighth airport.

Located in Nellore district, the facility will span 1,332.80 acres and connect directly to major highways, Krishnapatnam and Ramayapatnam ports, plus key industrial zones like KRIS City and IFFCO SEZs.

Phase 1 targets 1.4 million passengers per year, with long-term scaling to 15 million and added cargo capabilities.

The project holds in-principle clearance from the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and invites private partners via RFP for development under a concession model.
