Amaravati, January 08, 2026: The Central government has approved ₹10 crore for modernising Kondapalli Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat 2.0 scheme.

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivnath announced the development on January 7, highlighting its role in handling rising passenger traffic linked to the Amaravati capital region.

Planned upgrades focus on improved facilities, passenger amenities, and addressing long-standing issues like drainage along the Kondapalli to Vijayawada track, especially in low-lying areas prone to flooding during rains.

Express trains may soon halt here, easing travel for commuters from nearby areas such as Ibrahimpatnam, Kanchikacherla, and Mylavaram. Local MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad noted ongoing efforts to speed up implementation, calling it a long-awaited win for residents.
