Amaravati, January 08: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Wednesday evening to discuss state priorities ahead of the Union Budget.
Naidu highlighted concerns over the recently introduced VB-G-RAM-G scheme, where the revised 60:40 Centre-State funding ratio adds financial strain on the state and risks slowing project rollout.
He requested alternative support and greater flexibility, while noting Andhra Pradesh's ongoing recovery from past fiscal challenges and thanking the Centre for its cooperation.
The Chief Minister also appealed for a parliamentary Bill to grant statutory status to Amaravati as the state's capital. He stressed that this step would provide policy certainty, speed up development, meet public aspirations, and build stronger investor confidence.
