Amaravati, January 06, 2026: District officials in Markapuram one of Andhra Pradesh's newest districts carved from western Prakasam hosted the first Meekosam Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) programme on Monday.

District Collector P Raja Babu and Superintendent of Police V Harshavardhan Raju led the session, where citizens submitted grievances directly to administration counters.

The event drew 350 petitions covering local issues. Officials resolved several complaints immediately and instructed departments to fast-track the rest.

Separate counters, tents, seating, and water facilities supported the public turnout. This marks an early step in bringing responsive governance to the upland region, which gained district status on January 1 to improve access to services and welfare.
