Amaravati, January 05, 2026: Temple officials at Srisailam, a major pilgrimage site in Andhra Pradesh's Nandyal district, have cracked down on activities that clash with its spiritual focus.

Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao emphasised that only dharmic events, such as spiritual discourses, bhajans, and satsangs, are suitable for the temple town and its accommodation facilities,s known as satrams.

The alert follows backlash over December 31 New Year events where staff played movie songs, danced, and shared videos online, upsetting many visitors.

Authorities also flagged birthday parties, unauthorized drone flights, video reels on temple grounds, and bringing in liquor or non-vegetarian items.
