Amaravati, January 05, 2026: The SARAS (Sale of Articles of Rural Artisans Society) exhibition, a major national platform for self-help group products, begins Tuesday in Guntur.
District Collector A Tamim Ansariya will inaugurate the 13-day event at the venue opposite Reddy College on Narasaraopet Road. Organised by the Society for the Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and the Guntur District Rural Development Agency, it marks Andhra Pradesh's hosting ofits first national SARAS fair.
Nearly 300 stalls feature handlooms, handicrafts, sarees, bamboo works, jewellery, organic foods, and more from Andhra Pradesh and other states.
Over 600 women artisans and performers participate, with amenities including a cultural stage, children's park, and a unique chilli-themed mascot nodding to Guntur's spice heritage.
Free entry and parking aim to attract large crowds and boost rural livelihoods through direct sales and exposure.
