Amaravati, January 05, 2026: Guntur police raided an isolated spot near Peddakakani village on credible tip-off, apprehending four peddlers and ten consumers attempting to flee.
Authorities seized about 4.95 kg of ganja from the group, who confessed during questioning to buying, selling, and using the drug. Some accused had prior records in narcotics, theft, and assault cases.
District SP Vakul Jindal vowed strict action to dismantle the supply chain, including probes into sources from regions like Araku.
In the last three months, police registered 41 ganja cases, seized over 68 kg of dry ganja plus other narcotics, and arrested 188 out of 240 identified suspects. Awareness drives continue in schools and colleges to curb youth involvement.
