Amaravati, January 05, 2026: Andhra Pradesh's horticulture sector has staged a strong revival since mid-2024, emerging as a major driver of the state's economy.
It contributed ₹1,52,950 crore in gross value added (GVA) to the GSDP in 2024-25, marking a sharp 21% jump after slower gains from 2019 to 2024.
Cultivation spans 18.57 lakh hectares, yielding 406.38 lakh metric tonnes. The state leads nationally in fruit production at 15.6% of the country's total and tops oil palm area with half the national share.
Key boosts came from expanded micro-irrigation covering 1.90 lakh hectares, support for high-value crops like oil palm, papaya, mango, tomato, and chilli, plus government interventions during market dips. Rayalaseema led with ₹76,458 crore GVA across 7.8 lakh hectares.
